Michelle has been a resident of the Willamette Valley region for over 47 years. She is a a local businessperson with over 30 years of experience in grassroots leadership, community development, and education. Michelle is running for House Representative in HD12 because rural residents deserve a seat at the legislative table to help make decisions affecting our future. Regardless of how heated the debate becomes, Michelle will fight on behalf of our communities first, rather than corporate and/or political interests.
Diversity strengthens our communities, and lends perspective to solve complicated problems. It's time we stopped dancing to the left or right - if you're ready to move forward, let's roll up our sleeves, lace up those boots, and and start tackling our problems with real solutions. Vote Emmons for Oregon because RURAL VOICES MATTER.
As the "Gateway to the Cascades," House District 12 (HD12) is critical to Oregon's economy because we are the custodians of one of the most extensive natural resource and outdoor recreation inventories in the State. Our communities help protect and provide water quality integrity for the entire Willamette Valley, effectively serving over 70% of our state's population. Our forests influence timber supply chains across the country, and with over 170 crops produced annually, the Willamette Valley is considered one of the most agriculturally diverse regions in the world. Our communities deserve a seat at the table to help develop policies that complement our values, build a strong economy, and provide a sustainable future for generations to come.

STRONG LOCAL ECONOMIES
As your representative, I will fight for high-quality education, workforce innovation, affordable housing, increased business investment, and upgrading infrastructure required to meet the needs of existing and expanding communities.
HEALTHCARE, EMS, PUBLIC SAFETY
Our communities deserve fair access to basic services such as healthcare, emergency assistance, and public safety. We need improved access to social services and mental health care for our most vulnerable residents, while increasing capacity for law enforcement and emergency medical personnel to be more effective. I also support more accountability at the State level to engage in strategic pathways for rehabilitation and addiction treatment using the tools we already have in place.
NATURAL RESOURCES
Oregon must address climate impact with legislative policies that don't impose undue hardships on rural areas, and stabilization for recovery resources where disaster strikes. Equal access to clean air and water must be ensured through efficient land use rules, while striking a balance between sustainability and economic benefits that prioritize local residents.
